The Garden of Eden Institute of Natural Medicine Cameroon known by its acronym as GAEINAMED CAM has continued its humanitarian gesture to some underprivileged and needy social welfare institutions. After the Buea Central prison last Saturday 18 July where the Institute donated 12 bags of rice the inmates Wednesday 22 July 2009 w as the turn of the Hephziah Handicapped Orphanage and Training Production Ecstasy Centre HOTPEC in Mile 14 Dibanda Buea Sub-division. The Founder and Managing Director of GAEINAMED CAM Dr. Fru Richard and his five man delegation had come to put broad smiles on the faces of some 80 orphans and officials of the HOTPEC Orphanage with a consignment of gifts The gifts that comprised of six 50Kg bags of rice, four packets of pens, pencils rulers and several dozens of exercise books are part of the Institute’s largesse to needy institutions in Buea sub division. It was an atmosphere of joy and fanfare at the premises of the HOTPEC Orphanage where the donation exercise took place. The children alongside the staff of the welfare Institution chanted songs of praises to God for their lives and that of their visitors. The boisterous atmosphere emanating from the beating of drums and the voices of the children ushered In Dr. Richard Fru and his delegation from the Garden of Eden Institute of Natural Medicine in a brief Introduction of the Garden of Eden Institute of Natural Medicine to the children Peter Ndang a member of the delegation stressed that it’s only through the orphanage that an individual or a group can reach out to a multitude of underprivileged children reason Why reaching out to the orphans is a tradition in GAEINAMED-CAM. He boasted that the Garden of Eden is the only institution in the country that trains youths on traditional medicines. To Ndang health means being mentally physically and socially upright On her part, the Assistant Director of HOTPEC Beatrice Mugri while welcoming her august visitors thanked the donor for showing himself as a parent and for sharing the burden of the needs of the children She recalled that It was the second time Dr. Fru and his Gal den of Eden are visiting them with gifts. The gifts the Assistant Director said, are Vern timely coming at a time when the orphanage finds it difficult to meet up with the needs of the children
Need to Live on Nature
Speaking during the donation exercise the Chief Executive officer of GAEINAMED-CAM Dr Richard Fru in a health talk to the children emphasised the importance of traditional medicine stressing on the need for human beings to live on nature because as he puts it: man was made out of nature. The colonial masters he stated, painted traditional medicine black but God Dr Fru went on has chosen him to rejuvenate traditional medicine “We are suffering today because we have neglected our nature” the traditional healer regretted. According to the Traditional doctor the development Of diseases such as liver complications cancer amongst others are as a result of toxic materials contained an drugs produced in the laboratory Commenting on the reason of his gesture to the HOTPEC Orphanage the traditional healer said God inspired him to visit the centre to share with the children. His visit according to the Chief Executive Officer also falls in line with the continuation of GAEINAMED CAM’s mission of healing the sick educate people or health issues and to share the token of gifts with the underprivileged to let them know that the Institute of traditional medicine has them at heart. Schools resumes very soon so we brought this little support to help the children and share in their educational burden Dr Fru said while handing the gifts to authorities of the orphanage while lauding the staff of the orphanage for their efforts the ‘Canda Stick” man, as he is popularly known, advised the benefactors to do their Job with conscience for God will definitely bless them bounteously. To the children the traditional healer exhorted them to be obedient and respectful to their mentors who are like their parents for there is blessing in obedience HOTPEC Orphanage started ln1995 with five kids and has grown in leaps and bounds with 80 children today thus the need for Inadequate accommodation space reason why the Assistant Director appealed for assistance from people of goodwill For its 14 years of existence the centre is said to have benefited only once from government subvention through the Ministry of Social Affairs.
